Black Currant Wine Vessel – 001

Black Currant Wine Vessel – 001

SKU: SKU053
$70.00Price

Perfect size for enjoying a glass of elderberry wine before calling it a day. This vessel embodies a raw, earthy aesthetic, with a rugged surface that evokes the natural textures of weathered stone and the Mojave Desert landscape. Its uneven form, layered with a mix of organic tones and a chalky, mineral-like finish, speaks of unrefined beauty and handcrafted authenticity.

The thick, sturdy walls and irregular rim suggest functionality fused with a deliberate embrace of imperfection. Perfectly suited for serving something as rich and bold as black currant wine, it feels like an artifact unearthed from ancient, untamed earth.

Created using a mix of local clay and clay mined in Southern California.

Glaze made from pine and oak ashes and white “chalk” foraged in the Mojave desert near Valyermo, California. Waterproof and tested for leaks.

Wheel and stone tools.

Fired at cone 6 (2200 °F – 1204 °C) using my electric kiln.
