Mojave Bowl 003
Designed for enjoying soups or porridges made from wild seeds and grains, this bowl also pairs beautifully with ferments and side dishes. Crafted with wild, foraged materials from the Mojave Desert, it captures the raw essence of nature. The flowing white glaze contrasts with its earthy texture, giving the impression of being shaped by the desert's elements—a true celebration of untamed beauty.
Created using a mix of local clay and clay mined in Southern California.
Glaze made from pine and oak ashes and white “chalk” foraged in the Mojave desert near Valyermo, California. Waterproof and tested for leaks.
Technique – Stone shaping. I use stones and pressure to create the bowl. It’s a technique that details which can’t be replicated by other methods.
Fired at cone 6 (2200 °F – 1204 °C) using my electric kiln.
