Mojave Desert Mug
Wild Beer mug made with clay collected on the surface of a dry lake in the Mojave Desert. The cordage is made of milkweed fibers collected in Colorado. It can be used as an handle but it’s mostly used to hang the cup when you go wildcrafting or camping in the forest. (see last photo).
Beautiful texture created by stones present in the unprocessed clay. The collected clay is reduced into powder using my stone grinder (Molcajete) then water is added to reach the right consistency and make the clay workable.
Mixed techniques – Hand build and wheel. Glazed inside and partly glazed outside.
Fired at cone 03 (2014 °F – 1100 °C ) using my electric kiln.
Transparent and white glaze made with natural ingredients (Non-toxic).
Diameter: 2.75 inches - 7 cm
Height: 4 inches - 10 cm
Weight: 14 ounces - 400 g
