Mushroom Pot - Colorado and California Clay
I used this pot while collecting medicinal mushooms (Turkey tails) in Missouri but you could use it to store wild grains, dried berries and so on. While in Colorado I used it to store Russian olives for a while. It's medium sized, not a large pot.
Made with clay foraged near Boulder Colorado mixed with Mojave Desert Clay. Glazed inside and partly glazed outside. Not waterproof tested, I use it for storage of dried goods. Willow bark cordage collected from a fallen branch in the local mountains (Lyons).
LOTS of texture created by stones present in the unprocessed clay - mostly quartz. The collected clay is reduced into powder using my stone grinder (Molcajete), water is added to reach the right consistency and make the clay workable.
Mixed techniques - Handbuild and wheel.
Fired at 2100 F using my portable electric kiln. This pot was fired twice.
Transparent and white glaze made with natural ingredients (Non-toxic)
Diameter: 4.5 inches - 12 cm
Height: 4 inches - 10 cm
