Oak Bark Bowl

Slightly larger than the previous one and gentler with the glaze. Beautiful impurities in the clay with lots of small quartz like pebbles.  The local clay was collected in the mountains near Wrightwood, California. Perfect size for a wild food soup or salad. 
 
Created using a mix of local clay and clay mined in Southern California.
 
Glaze made from pine and oak ashes and white “chalk” foraged in the Mojave desert near Valyermo, California. Waterproof and tested for leaks. 
 
Hand-built – pinch method and stone tools.
 
Fired at cone 6 (2200 °F – 1204 °C) using my electric kiln.

Priority mail takes two to five days to deliver in the US. International orders may take much longer to arrive.
