Pinyon Pine Soda Mug - Nettles Cordage
Perfectly imperfect mug, one of my favorite pottery to date.
Wild clay mug made with clay collected in the local hills (Valyermo – Southern California) - Nettles fibers were foraged in Wyoming.
Wheel and hand build - mixed techniques
Fired in an electric kiln 3 times (last time was 2000F) then pit fired one more time.
Transparent glaze made with natural ingredients (silica, clay from Missouri, crushed local quartz powder, etc..). Clay colored with various Iron oxides (including rust from 50 years old cans found in the mountains).
Glazed inside (for food safety) and partly outside.
Reflection of the land around me - burned landscape from the 2020 forest fire.

Priority mail takes two to five days to deliver in the US. International orders may take much longer to arrive.
