Shamanic Wild Brew Fermentation Vessel
It’s a small prototype I made for some of my alcoholic ferments made with local plants, berries and fruits. This one can hold around 2 cups (450 ml), I used it to make a simple pine mead and it worked well.
That said, I view this piece more as artistic display piece due to the small size. Larger ones will be more functional.
The design is based on fermentation crocks, you pour water on top so fermentation gases can escape but no oxygen, fruit flies, etc.. can get in.
Made with local wild clays - mixed techniques of wheel and hand build
Transparent and white glaze (inside) - Various Iron oxides including some made form rusty cans found in the desert.
Fired 3 times in my electric kiln (up to 2000F) then pit fired.
Diameter: 4.5 inches (11.5 cm)
Height: 6.5 inches (16.5 cm)
Weight: 2.1 Pounds (934 gr)
