The “M” cup
This cup was one of the tests I made using clay collected near Hannibal city (Missouri) and I liked it so much that I kept it. It was part of my personal collection but I’m now offering it for sale. I call it the “M” cup because there is a actual “M” written on it which meant it was the Missouri clay. Because it was a test, it is unsigned but hey…I did write that “M” and that makes it a special piece.
The collected clay is reduced into powder using my stone grinder (Molcajete) then water is added to reach the right consistency and make the clay workable.
Hand build. Glazed inside with white glaze and partly glazed outside with homemade transparent glaze (made from non-toxic natural ingredients).
Fired 3 times at cone 03 (2014 °F – 1100 °C) using my electric kiln then pit fired
