Thumb Grinder

This is a tool I created for myself and decided to do a couple more if anyone is interested. I’m currently working on a new book about edible wild seeds and grains, this type of grinders was designed to removed the husk of some more “reticent” grains such as wild oats.  You basically use your thumb and rub the grains against the rough surface of the grinder to remove the husk.  It works well for small production and some grains.  Two in stock. 
 
Made from a mix of local clay and clay mined in Southern California. 
 
Transparent glaze and iron oxides. 
 
Mixed building techniques – Wheel and hand building
 
Fired at cone 6 (2200 °F – 1204 °C) using my electric kiln.

Shipping Information: I use USPS Priority mail for shipping within the US and USPS Priority International mail for international customers. Packages go out three to seven business days from the day of purchase.
 
Priority mail takes two to five days to deliver in the US. International orders may take much longer to arrive.
