Wild currant Bowl
One of my favorite bowl, perfect balance between the texture of the clay and the smoothness of the glaze. It’s more rustic looking than other bowls, a true testament to the rugged beauty of the desert.
Created using a mix of local clay and clay mined in Southern California.
Glaze made from pine and oak ashes and white “chalk” foraged in the Mojave desert near Valyermo, California. Waterproof and tested for leaks.
Hand-built – pinch method and stone tools.
Fired at cone 6 (2200 °F – 1204 °C) using my electric kiln.
Approximate dimensions:
Diameter: 4.25 inches – 10.5 cm
Height: 2.5 inches – 6.5 cm
Weight: 8.75 Oz (245 gr)
