Wild Mint Bowl

I stored some of the wild mint seeds in this bowl during fall so I call this bowl “Wild Mint” but it’s a perfect size for enjoying a soup or a wild food salad.  I kept the glaze light on this bowl, it’s beautifully simple. A reflection of the Mojave Desert near St Andrew abbey in Valyemo.
 
Created using a mix of local clay and clay mined in Southern California.
 
Glaze made from pine and oak ashes and white “chalk” foraged in the Mojave desert near Valyermo, California. Waterproof and tested for leaks. 
 
Hand-built – pinch method and stone tools.
 
Fired at cone 6 (2200 °F – 1204 °C) using my electric kiln.
