Wild Oats Container

Wild Oats Container

I’ve used this container to store my wild grains and let them dehydrate but you can definitely use it for many other purposes including serving food.

White glaze inside and transparent glaze outside.

Wild clay from Southern California (Valyermo). The collected clay is reduced into powder using my stone grinder (Molcajete) then water is added to reach the right consistency and make the clay workable.

Made on a wheel using stone tools

Fired 3 times at cone 03 (2014 °F – 1100 °C) using my electric kiln. This container was also pit fired which added some black coloring.

Diameter: 4 inches (10 cm)

Height: 2.5 inches (6.5 cm)

Weight: 11.5 ounces (328 gr)

Don't forget to read the section about pottery care.
