Wild Rye Pot

Wild Rye Pot

SKU: SKU058
$275.00Price

Perfect size for storing some of my wild rye seeds. This small pot showcases a raw, natural beauty with a glaze made from local rocks ground by hand in a stone grinder and pine/oak ashes. The earthy tones and textured finish highlight its organic, handcrafted character, blending mustard yellows and browns with an authentic, rugged charm.

The braided handle, crafted from sagebrush bark (Artemisia tridentata), complements the pot's design while adding functionality. Its natural fibers and warm tones enhance the pot’s connection to the landscape, making it a beautiful and sustainable piece of traditional craftsmanship.

Mixed clay from the local mountains and clay mined near Murietta, California.

Glaze made from foraged rocks and pine/oak ashes

Handle made from Great Basin sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata), twinned by fibers and basketry artist Julia Han (www.instagram.com/wildcalifornica/)

Fired in an electric kiln at 2200F (Cone 6)

Mixed techniques - Hand built and wheel
