Wilder Salsa Bowl

I’ve used that bowl in my classes and workshops. It’s a perfect size for my wild food salsa but it’s also great for storing local walnuts or acorns. 
 
The bowl captures the essence of raw, unrefined beauty, with a softly textured surface that resembles natural stone. Its rounded form and irregular rim give it a distinctly organic feel, while the white glaze blends seamlessly into the earthy clay, evoking a sense of weathered landscapes. Created using a mix of local clay and clay mined in Southern California.
 
Glaze made from pine and oak ashes and white “chalk” foraged in the Mojave desert near Valyermo, California. Waterproof and tested for leaks. 
 
Hand-built – pinch method and stone tools.
 
Fired at cone 6 (2200 °F – 1204 °C) using my electric kiln.
