Acorns Plate

Lots of acorns to collect this month, I just checked my regular place and it's a true abundance. I think I'll spend most of next week making acorn flour using cold and hot leaching methods. I'll probably store 20 pounds as well.

But they look good in this bowl. It's made with a mix of desert "dirt" and clay mined in Southern California. Recycled manzanita deadwood from the 2020 fire and yucca fibers dyed with pinyon pine cones ink.

The "handle" was repaired in the center by using nettles fibers and pinyon pine sap glue. Wood treated with beeswax.

Glaze made with local rocks (brown color) and desert chalk (white) mixed with pinyon pine and oak ashes.
