Forest Potion Pottery Set

 
This small, three-piece set was made as part of my ongoing research into how to serve what I call “forest” or “mountain” potions. The set includes a bowl, a strainer, and a pouring vessel—simple, functional forms designed for tasting and sharing drinks made from place.
 
My forest potions are built from savory, foraged ingredients: wild berries, aromatic herbs and stems, mushrooms, barks, and other plant materials gathered from the landscape. The main goal is to explore and experience the flavors of a place through drinks. Some of these infusions can also be medicinal or psychotropic in nature. The end result is always lightly fermented, sometimes edging into something more boozy.
 
Because these potions are made with whole plant material, there are often leaves, berries, stems, fibers, and other fragments floating in the drink. The strainer is an essential part of the set, allowing the infusion to be poured cleanly into the bowl. This particular set has been my own personal testing and tasting set. At some point, the strainer cracked slightly and was repaired using a primitive adhesive made from pine sap, charcoal, and beeswax—an intentional, functional repair that keeps the piece in use.
 
The clay comes from Valyermo, California and is used as found, without cleaning or removing stones, sand, or natural inclusions. The surface and form are shaped as much by the material as by the hand. The vessels are perfectly irregular, carrying the textures, mineral shifts, and rough edges of the local clay—an honest reflection of the terroir they come from.

Shipping Information: I use USPS Priority mail for shipping within the US and USPS Priority International mail for international customers. Packages go out three to seven business days from the day of purchase.
 
Priority mail takes two to five days to deliver in the US. International orders may take much longer to arrive.
 
Refunds will be offered if the item is damaged during shipment. Send me and email and photos clearly indicating the extent of damage to the box, packing materials, and item.
