Moonshine Pouring Vessel and Cups

This small pouring vessel and matching cups are designed for strong, slow drinks—sake, infused wines, or wild boozy concoctions made from foraged ingredients. The pouring lip is rough but deliberate, shaped for controlled use rather than precision perfection. The cups are thick, low, and steady in the hand, meant for sipping rather than measuring.
 
The character of these vessels comes directly from the iron-rich clay itself. They are made from mixed raw clays foraged in Southern California, primarily from Valyermo and Lake Elsinore. Water is added, but the clay is otherwise left untouched—no refining, no filtering. Natural impurities remain in the body of the vessels, creating uneven surfaces, mineral textures, and subtle variations from piece to piece.
 
The result is a set that feels closer to ancestral drinking wares than modern tableware—objects made to be used, stained, and lived with over time. Each piece reflects the land it came from, with no two surfaces behaving exactly the same.
 
Functional, sturdy, and intentionally raw, these vessels are meant to slow the moment and give weight to what’s being poured.
