Tiny Cup

This started as a test for a new local clay and required several firings. I really like it though. It nearly melted at high temperature (cone 6 - 2200 F) but somehow made it through and I refired it twice at lower temperature (Cone 05 - 1914 F) with a white glaze inside to make it food safe.

The outside glaze was a mix of local rock powders and pine ashes which melted at Cone 6

Wild Clay was unprocessed, just added water.

Mixed techniques - wheel and pinch method.

Rough like the local mountains. A good reflection of the terroir.
